Elliot Backer is a Certified Physician Assistant at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
He has been practicing dermatology since 2018. Elliot specializes in general and surgical dermatology with a special interest in skin cancer treatment and performing surgical excisions.
Elliot earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Elliot also pursued further dermatology training through the SDPA diplomate fellowship program in 2018.
He prides himself on his ability to connect with patients and build long-term patient relationships. He strives to practice the most up-to-date, evidence-based medicine to provide top-notch dermatological care.
Elliot grew up in New Ulm, Minn., and has strong family roots in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota area. He lives in Plymouth with his wife and daughter. Outside of the office, he enjoys time with family and friends, and staying busy with social events and getting out in the community.
CAQ-Derm stands for Certificate of Added Qualification in Dermatology. This certification recognizes that Elliot has advanced knowledge, skills, and experience in the specialty of Dermatology from the National Certification Commission of PAs. This certification embodies multiple requirements. First, Elliot has at least 4,000 hours practice experience within the Dermatology specialty. Second, the Dermatologist that Elliot practices with has attested to his mastery in procedure and patient case requirements. Lastly, Elliot has passed a Dermatology PA specialty examination.
